When Does Valorant Act 5 Start? Malaysia Time & Battle Pass
Published: 2026-08-18
Valorant Act 5 flips live around 8:00 AM MYT on 19 August 2026 (Selasa), the same window Riot has used for every rollover in Season 2026. Act 4 closes the same morning. Ranked resets, a fresh Battle Pass drops at 1000 VP (RM 33.90 on Riot's Malaysian client), and Abyss is expected to slot back into the competitive map pool while Breeze rotates out. Everything below runs in Malaysia time (GMT+8, zero offset).
Act 5 patch impact: what actually changes on Selasa morning
Act 4 has run 56 days since 24 June and, per the Valorant Wiki Season 2026 timeline, closes on 19 Ogos 2026. When servers cycle over, three things happen in the same maintenance window.
Rank drops first: everyone loses six divisions on the ladder, so Diamond 3 becomes Platinum 1, Ascendant 1 becomes Diamond 1, and every account below Silver 3 lands in Iron 1 until placements sort them out. You need five placement matches to lock the new rank, and Riot uses your Act 4 finish as the anchor, which means grinding Iron 1 lobbies with a decayed Diamond MMR is common in the first weekend. Duo-queue is capped at three tiers apart until placements clear, which trims a lot of the wilder party mismatches you saw in Act 4.
The Battle Pass is next. Reports from GamesReviews.com's Act 5 preview list three collections (Gourmet, Green Café, Last Stop) plus fresh cards, sprays, and titles across 55 tiers. Premium track price stays at 1000 VP. Riot has not published final skin renders on the news hub as of 18 Ogos, so treat collection names as leaks until patch notes ship.
Map pool third. Community trackers point to Abyss replacing Breeze in ranked and Premier, keeping Ascent, Haven, Lotus, Split, Summit, and Sunset. Riot confirms map rotation in the launch patch, which historically drops about 24 hours before rollover, so watch the official patch notes hub the evening of 18 Ogos. As leaker AkamaruVal noted, "Breeze will be replaced in the competitive map pool with Abyss. Icebox won't be returning despite recent rumors."
Events calendar around 19 Ogos MYT
- 18 Ogos, ~11 PM MYT: Riot patch notes typically go live. Downtime notice follows.
- 19 Ogos, 6:00 to 8:00 AM MYT: server maintenance window on APAC. Store, ranked, and matchmaking go offline.
- 19 Ogos, ~8:00 AM MYT: Act 5 goes live. Battle Pass becomes available, placements open, new map pool active.
- 19 Ogos to ~14 Oktober: expected Act 5 length based on past ~56-day cycles.
- Overlap: VCT Champions 2026 in Shanghai runs 24 September to 18 Oktober, straight through Act 5's competitive window.
Riot has never pre-announced act-start times in a press release. Season 2026's earlier rollovers (Act 2 on 18 Maret, Act 3 in May, Act 4 on 24 Jun) all landed within a ±90-minute band around 8 AM MYT after the maintenance window, and Riot Public Relations confirms the exact hour only inside the patch notes. Plan around that band, not a firm minute.
VP cost math in ringgit for the new Battle Pass
Malaysian pricing on Riot's own client, current at 18 Ogos 2026:
- 475 VP: RM 16.90
- 1,000 VP: RM 33.90 (exact price of the Premium Battle Pass)
- 2,050 VP: RM 67.90
- 3,650 VP: RM 118.90
- 5,350 VP: RM 169.90
- 11,000 VP: RM 339.90
Do the math on the 11k pack: RM 0.0309 per VP versus RM 0.0339 on the 1k pack, a 9% saving per point if you were topping up for a bundle skin anyway, so the break-even for stacking VP kicks in at roughly two premium bundles per Act. Battle Pass alone costs RM 33.90, so grinding to tier 50 for two skin lines plus melee at that rate works out to roughly RM 0.68 per tier earned, cheaper than a teh ais at Old Town and about a fifth of what the same battle-pass hours cost you in opportunity terms if you were freelancing on Grab.
PlayStation Store MY lists 1000 VP at RM 39.00 through PSN gift cards after the console conversion, a RM 5.10 gap versus Riot's PC checkout for the same 1000 points. REDX Game's Valorant Malaysia top-up matches Riot's RM 33.90 rate and pays out via DuitNow, TnG eWallet, or Boost in one to three minutes, sidestepping the international-card conversion on PC and the console mark-up on PSN. That is the practical local signal. No third-party reseller, no FX charge, same ringgit and same points.
Top up VP for Act 5 in five steps (DuitNow flow)
- Grab your Riot ID (Name#TAG) from the client's top-right menu. Skip this and REDX Game cannot deliver.
- Open redxgame.com/order/direct-top-up/valorant-malaysia and pick a VP pack. 1000 VP covers the Battle Pass; go 2050 or higher if you want a Gourmet or Green Café bundle skin on launch day.
- Paste Riot ID exactly. Double-check the TAG (case sensitive).
- Pay with DuitNow QR, TnG eWallet, Boost, or FPX. Confirm the RM amount before you submit.
- VP lands in-client, usually in one to three minutes. Restart Valorant to see the store refresh.
If you are on PS5, request the PSN gift-card variant on the same REDX Game product page. The flow is identical, just add the region code before checkout.
Act 5 launch FAQ (Malaysia)
What time does Valorant Act 5 start in Malaysia?
Roughly 8:00 AM MYT on 19 Ogos 2026, once Riot's APAC maintenance ends. The window has swung 30 to 90 minutes either way on past acts, so give it until 9:30 AM before raising a support ticket.
Is Act 5 bringing a new agent?
No. Miks (the Croatian controller from March 2026) is still the newest addition. Riot's roadmap does not list another agent for this act, so expect balance tweaks instead.
How much does the Act 5 Battle Pass cost in Malaysia?
Premium track is 1000 VP, which is RM 33.90 on Riot's Malaysian client. That is the same rate REDX Game's Valorant top-up charges via DuitNow.
Will my Act 4 rank carry over?
Partially. You drop six divisions, then re-earn via five placement matches. Radiant and top Immortal accounts drop into low Immortal or Ascendant depending on RR.
Is Breeze really being removed?
Community trackers (including AkamaruVal) say yes, with Abyss returning. Nothing is confirmed until the launch patch notes drop the evening of 18 Ogos MYT.
Can I buy VP before Act 5 goes live?
Yes. Any VP already in your wallet on 18 Ogos carries into Act 5 untouched. REDX Game's top-up sends VP to your Riot ID immediately; the Battle Pass button just appears once servers cycle over.
Local tips: watching Act 5 land from KL and PJ
Malaysia's only tier-one representative at Champions 2026 is Ahmad "d4v41" Khalish, the Paper Rex duelist out of the Pacific league. Act 5's map-pool refresh matters for the KL grind because Paper Rex historically overperforms on Sunset and Ascent, both of which stay in rotation. If Abyss actually returns, expect a wave of KL and Petaling Jaya scrims running Abyss defaults within the first weekend. The community Discord for MY Valorant usually posts VOD reviews by Sabtu evening.
Timing wise, 8 AM MYT is friendly for Malaysian players, especially compared to how Genshin patch drops usually hit at midnight and gut your sleep before a weekday. Boleh tahan for once. Log in, grind five placements before lunch, and you will have a rank locked before the Selangor sun turns the room into an oven, which frees the afternoon for either MPL scrims or a nap. Memang best.
For the Battle Pass grind itself, unranked queues on Split and Haven give the fastest AP per hour, roughly 1,200 to 1,400 AP for a 25-minute Unrated. Ignore Deathmatch, the AP rate is a third of that. And keep an eye on the Valorant Malaysia community server run out of Ipoh for premade parties. They usually spin up dedicated Act-launch stacks within the first 48 hours.
Once Act 5 stabilises and Riot pushes the mid-act patch (typically two to three weeks in), watch for a second Aeris-style bundle refresh. That is usually when REDX Game's VP packs move fastest in the Klang Valley, so plan your top-up early if you want the launch-window skins before the pool thins out.
