Speed Drifters GrabPay Top-Up: MYR Ladder for KL, 2026
Published: 2026-07-02
Pay RM 4.90 for 60 Diamonds on the Apple App Store Malaysia and each Diamond costs 8.17 sen. Route the same money through GrabPay on REDX Game and the sticker drops before a single GrabCoin gets credited. That gap, and how GrabPay stacks on top of it, is what this Garena Speed Drifters top up GrabPay walkthrough is for. Malaysian players in KL, PJ, Shah Alam, and Johor Bahru already carry Grab on the same home screen as Speed Drifters, so the friction is tiny. The math and rebate maths are the parts most guides skip, which is a shame because a Malaysian buyer who understands both the tier ladder and the wallet mechanics ends up with meaningfully more Diamonds per hundred ringgit than one who just taps whatever pack is trending on the App Store.
Speed Drifters is the SEA build of TiMi Studio's GKART / QQ Speed, published here by Garena. Diamonds power the Supply Store, mecha car shards, and the Speed Pass ladder. Cheaper Diamonds mean more pulls per RM 100, which is why the tier you pick and the rail you pay with matters more than any promo banner.
Diamond tiers on Apple MY vs the REDX path, 1 July 2026
These are the pure Diamond packs confirmed on the Malaysia App Store today. Bundle SKUs like the Supreme Crown or Speed Pass are excluded because their Diamond value shifts every season.

What GrabPay really costs per Diamond after GrabCoins
Grab's own help page is direct about the earn side:
"Earn 0.5X GrabCoins for every RM1 top-up (with GX Account linked). No minimum spend required." — grab.com/my/grabcoins
The redemption side is also fixed. 15 GrabCoins gets you roughly RM 0.10 off at checkout on GrabFood or GrabMart. That works out to about RM 0.00667 per GrabCoin, or a 0.33% effective rebate on any RM you route through your GX Account into GrabPay Wallet, then out to a Diamond top-up.
Apply that to Speed Drifters. Buying T5 (800 Diamonds) at REDX costs the same MYR-native price whether you pay by GrabPay, DuitNow, or FPX. But GrabPay tops-up first, so the RM you spent already threw off 0.5X GrabCoins on the way in. Do it on T7 (3130 Diamonds, roughly RM 109.28 on the platform) and you have around 54 GrabCoins waiting, worth roughly RM 0.36 in future GrabFood spend.
Compare that to buying T7 on Apple MY at RM 239.90. Delta: RM 130.62 in your pocket before any rebate. Add the GrabPay 0.33% top-up cashback and the effective price is closer to RM 108.92, or 3.48 sen per Diamond. Apple MY at T7 sits at 7.66 sen. The GrabPay-via-REDX path is roughly 55% cheaper per Diamond than the App Store on the same denomination, which is not a rebate story so much as a route-around-Apple's-30%-fee story with a small wallet bonus on top.
Two things Malaysian players get wrong here. First, the 0.33% rebate is only guaranteed on the top-up leg from a linked GX Account, so paying with GrabPay directly on any merchant page swaps guaranteed points for a Mystery Reward draw that rarely comes back positive over ten purchases. Second, if your GrabPay balance already has the RM sitting in it, no rebate stacks on the outbound spend to REDX Game. You already earned the coins when you first loaded the wallet, so new spend from a preloaded balance earns nothing extra. Route new spend through GX top-up first, then buy.
Six taps: GrabPay to Diamonds in about a minute
- Open your Speed Drifters loadout, tap the Diamond icon, and note your Player ID under Settings. Copy it. Boleh tahan simple ni.
- Head to the REDX Speed Drifters page and pick the Diamond pack that matches your Apple MY tier. Most Malaysian players default to T5 (800 Diamonds, RM 59.90 on Apple MY) as a single-buy.
- Paste the Player ID, confirm the server (SEA), and hit checkout. REDX Game reads your denomination and prices the pack in MYR at the top of the checkout page, so there is no last-minute forex surprise or hidden currency conversion between the tier you clicked and the amount your wallet is about to be charged.
- On the payment screen, choose GrabPay. The redirect opens the Grab app on your phone. If GrabPay is not listed, DuitNow QR from GrabPay Wallet still works because Grab's GrabPay DuitNow QR page confirms nationwide acceptance.
- Approve the charge in Grab. Face ID or PIN takes two seconds. The rail settles in about 15 to 45 seconds for a wallet-to-merchant push.
- Return to Speed Drifters and pull down to refresh the shop. Diamonds land inside the advertised 1 to 3 minute window. Tak perlu tunggu lama.

Rebate rates from grab.com/my/grabcoins and Boost's public BoostUP pages. Speeds are observed Malaysian averages, not vendor SLA. Watch the DuitNow QR lane in particular during the Manor Mode reset window because Grab briefly throttles the rail and it can drift closer to 30 seconds than 15.
Two Malaysian pro shorthand notes worth remembering. Yamato of TODAK talks a lot about "clean the shop first" before hoarding for the next A-car banner, and Selangor Red Giants fans have started posting mecha shard math after every Manor Mode reset. Both point at the same habit: buy the Diamond pack that matches the reset cadence, not the biggest number on the page. Murah giler kalau tunggu event yang betul.
Frequently asked GrabPay top-up questions
Is GrabPay always cheaper than Boost eWallet for Speed Drifters?
No. For pure sticker rebate, Boost's BoostUP wins with roughly 1.1% cashback plus periodic RM 3 flat promos. GrabPay's 0.33% is only for players who already keep money in the Grab ecosystem. If you buy Diamonds once a fortnight and never touch GrabFood, Boost gives you more back per RM 100.
What is the Player ID and where does Speed Drifters hide it?
Open Speed Drifters, tap your avatar top-left, then Settings. The Player ID sits under your nickname as a nine to ten digit number. Copy it before you leave the game because a mistyped ID at checkout is the classic wrong-account horror story that MPL fans have seen with other titles.
Can I use GrabPay from a family member's GX Account?
You can pay from any GrabPay Wallet the app signs you into, but the 0.5X GrabCoins on the top-up leg credit to the GX Account that funded it. Route the top-up from your own GX to keep the rebate. Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam readers with shared household Grab accounts hit this one most.
Does the REDX listing honour the Apple MY denominations or its own?
Same denominations. If Apple MY sells 800 Diamonds at RM 59.90, the corresponding REDX pack lists the same 800-Diamond bundle at its MYR-native price. Server is SEA, so a Diamond bought in KL is the same Diamond a Bangkok player buys, with no region lock.
What if the Grab redirect times out mid-payment?
Two things happen. The charge does not go through on GrabPay, and the order stays open for a short window so you can retry the rail. If you already have the merchant confirmation email, do not resubmit and check the order status page instead. Support at REDX Game reads Bahasa Malaysia and English, and Penang, Ipoh, Kuching, and Johor Bahru users get the same advertised 1 to 3 minute delivery window as buyers in KL despite the longer physical distance from the payment processor's Kuala Lumpur data centre.
Can I split a single Speed Drifters purchase across two GrabPay wallets?
Not in one order. One rail per order is the rule. Senang gila to do two orders side by side though, one at T5 from your GrabPay and one at T4 from a partner's, and the Diamonds land in the same Speed Drifters account because the Player ID does not change between orders.
Is GrabPay safer than dropping card details on the App Store?
Different risk model. GrabPay never shares your card with the merchant because the platform sees a tokenised wallet push. Apple stores your card centrally and lets a family member with the passcode spend it. For parents in KL or JB who share iPad access with kids, GrabPay-via-REDX Game removes the accidental Diamond binge that App Store parental controls sometimes miss. Memang best for peace of mind.
REDX Game keeps a lean support flow for the times a rail behaves oddly. One order, one Player ID, one rail, and if the Diamond does not land inside three minutes, the order log shows exactly which leg is holding it up. That is the actual reason Malaysian regulars rotate GrabPay, Boost, and DuitNow instead of picking a favourite: whichever rail is fastest today is the rail that gets used.
