5 Honor of Kings Asian Games 2026 Malaysia Time Windows to Save
Published: 2026-09-04
Honor of Kings makes its Asian Games medal debut in Aichi, Japan, from 23 September to 2 October 2026, with the championship bracket landing on 27–28 September and the whole main event playing under Japan Standard Time (GMT+9), which is one hour ahead of Malaysia Time. Subtract one hour and every slot below is already converted for Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, and Ipoh. If your phone still says JST, you are one hour ahead of the queue at the mamak, and the 20:00 slot in Aichi is 19:00 for you.
Twelve national teams are on site at the Aichi Sky Expo: three seeded medalists from Hangzhou 2022 (China, Malaysia, Thailand) plus nine that came through the qualifier Malaysia hosted at PJ Marriott, Petaling Jaya, in June 2026. That is not a small footnote. Malaysia is the reigning silver medalist, and REDX Game expects the domestic traffic spike between 15:00 and 20:00 MYT on match nights when Malaysian schools finish and the working crowd gets back to KL condos. Boleh tahan for a game only two years into its global esports circuit.
5 Match Windows to Lock into MYT
The Aichi programme places group-stage rounds in the daytime block and pushes knockouts to prime evening slots, which is why the Malaysia-friendly matches all sit inside 15:00–20:00 MYT. Save these five as calendar events on your phone. Tap RM 128 of Weekly Card Plus into REDX Game's Honor of Kings top-up the day before so your account is already loaded when the stream cuts to a live in-client draft.
- Wed 23 Sept 2026, 09:00 MYT: Opening ceremony broadcast wraps. Round-robin play begins at Aichi Sky Expo. Group Bo3 slots run through the day.
- Thu 24 Sept, 15:00 MYT: Malaysia's expected opener window. Six-player squad, one substitute in reserve. Streams on the official broadcast.
- Fri 25 Sept, 15:00 MYT: Cross-group Bo3s. Watch for China against the SEA seeds. This is the day tokens go through Southeast Asian carts fastest.
- Sat 26 Sept, 15:00 MYT: Semifinal qualification day. If the format holds to single round-robin, seeding for knockouts locks by end of play.
- Mon 28 Sept, 18:00 MYT: Gold medal match. Bo3 final. Peak Malaysian viewership expected 18:00–21:00 MYT. If Malaysia reaches the final, expect the SRG-vs-Team-Rey level of noise on Malaysian social feeds.
Any Japan-time schedule you spot later just needs to be shifted back one hour to reach MYT, which is the entire conversion nobody should ever bookmark a spreadsheet for.

Malaysia's Silver Path from Hangzhou to Aichi
In September 2023, the six-man Malaysian Arena of Valor squad (Nicholas Ng, Yong Zhan Quan, Lai Chia Chien, Ong Jun Yang, Chong Han Hui, and Eng Jun Hao) took silver at Hangzhou, losing 0–2 to China in a final played on Tencent's Asian Games build, and that result stood as Malaysia's first Asian Games esports medal, ever. Selangor Red Giants fans and Team SMG followers had a rare crossover moment where everyone was rooting for the same six guys in national jerseys.
The 2026 challenge is different. China defends with the strongest domestic KPL system in the world. Thailand and South Korea are tougher opponents on the current 3.x meta than they were in Hangzhou, and Malaysia's seeded slot means no gauntlet through the qualifier but also no warmup Bo3s under lights before the medal round begins. "Bo3s reward preparation, not chaos," is how a KPL analyst framed it in a recent tournament breakdown, which is another way of saying draft depth matters more than a hot streak. Aurora Gaming's MKL run gave a preview of Malaysian coaching depth, and the national selectors will lean on that pool for the final call sheet.
Reading the 85-Hero Asian Games Rulebook
Regular Honor of Kings ships new heroes every season, while the Asian Games version deliberately does not, because the Olympic Council of Asia and Tencent locked an 85-hero pool tuned to the international build so no team gains a home-server advantage. Luara, one of the newest heroes on the SEA client, is excluded. Recent Flowborn additions from Season 16 also do not appear on the Aichi draft board.
For Malaysian ranked players preparing to watch, this changes the meta you are used to. Heroes you have not seen in ranked queues since Season 15 return to prominence, and if you plan to grind ranked between matches, avoid copying the Aichi drafts one-for-one because regional patches move faster than the Olympic build. Match the teamfight timings and the objective priorities, not the exact picks. Memang beza dengan biasa.
Ringgit Math vs Apple App Store for Weekend Watching
Match weekends push token demand hard. REDX Game's Malaysian ringgit ladder saves a genuine 15–20% versus the Apple App Store MY conversion, because Apple prices the pack in MYR against a USD-anchored SKU while the local Tencent rate ships direct-top-up in ringgit, and that ringgit gap is real money once you stack it across a whole tournament. Weekly Card Plus at the HoK top-up counter runs roughly RM 11 for 380 tokens over 7 days, versus about RM 15.90 on the Apple side.

Group stage begins Wed 23 September 2026, 09:00 MYT (10:00 JST) at Aichi Sky Expo. The gold medal match is scheduled for Mon 28 September 2026, 18:00 MYT. All five major windows above are already converted from Japan Standard Time.
Adakah Malaysia menyertai Honor of Kings di Sukan Asia 2026?
Ya. Malaysia has a direct seed as the Hangzhou 2022 silver medalist, one of three teams (with China and Thailand) exempt from the June 2026 qualifier held at Petaling Jaya Marriott. The national squad plays under the FA banner.
How is Asian Games Honor of Kings different from regular HoK ranked?
Teams draft from a fixed 85-hero pool tuned for international parity. Luara and other newest additions are excluded. The format is single round-robin, best-of-three, no in-tournament patches. Regular HoK ranked keeps rotating patches every two to three weeks.
Where can I top up Honor of Kings tokens for the Asian Games window?
Use REDX Game's direct-top-up page for Honor of Kings. Delivery is advertised at 1–3 minutes, prices are MYR only, and payment methods include DuitNow, TNG, Boost, and FPX. Weekly Card Plus (~RM 11 for 380 tokens over 7 days) is the highest-value pack for a single tournament weekend.
Where can I watch the Malaysia matches with English commentary?
The official Honor of Kings Esports hub carries English casts alongside Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia streams. Aichi Sky Expo does not sell separate esports day passes; the broadcast is the venue for overseas fans.
Who won the Arena of Valor and Honor of Kings gold at Hangzhou 2022?
China defeated Malaysia 2–0 in the final. Malaysia's silver was the country's first-ever esports Asian Games medal. Thailand took bronze. All three teams are seeded direct into the Aichi 2026 main event.
Do Malaysian players need a VPN to watch or top up?
No. The Honor of Kings Esports broadcast and REDX Game's Malaysian top-up flow are geo-available inside Malaysia. No VPN, no foreign Apple ID, no proxy needed.
Where to Watch in KL, PJ, and Beyond
The official broadcast streams on the Honor of Kings Esports hub with English and Chinese casts running in parallel. In Klang Valley, a handful of gaming cafés in Petaling Jaya (near the SS2 strip) and Cyberjaya open late for Asian Games weekends. Kuching and Johor Bahru viewers should confirm café schedules on match day, since some venues only extend hours if Malaysia is playing that block.
A home setup is simpler. Cast the stream to a 4K screen, keep your phone free for the REDX Game top-up flow if you plan to draft a fantasy roster in-community. Watching in a group is memang best when the country is up on stage in Japan.
